A remoção dos dejetos produzidos pelos animais de estimação é uma ação absolutamente necessária, uma vez que, os dejetos caninos não estão apenas associados à limpeza mas também à saúde pública, sendo responsáveis pela propagação de doenças graves, algumas das quais são transmissíveis ao Homem.
Os proprietários ou acompanhantes de animais devem proceder à limpeza e remoção imediata dos dejetos produzidos por estes nas vias e demais espaços públicos devendo os mesmos ser acondicionados de forma hermética, nomeadamente em sacos de plástico, para evitar qualquer insalubridade.
